Social Awareness Campaign

Healthy City, Healthy Community

Social Awareness Campaign · Logo Design · Visual Communication

Healthy City, Healthy Community was a local council initiative created to encourage residents to take greater responsibility for their urban environment and adopt more sustainable everyday habits.

The campaign focused particularly on reducing the use of single-use plastics, encouraging people to replace plastic shopping bags, cups and other disposable products with reusable alternatives such as fabric and paper bags.

Design for Positive Change

The purpose of this project went beyond environmental information. Its wider cultural and social aim was to encourage a gradual change in everyday behaviour — building greater awareness of how individual choices can contribute to a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable community.

For the campaign, I developed a logo and visual identity concept that brings together two central ideas: people and nature. The human figures represent the community, while the tree-inspired form represents growth, life and environmental responsibility. The surrounding circular elements create a sense of unity, participation and collective action.

The visual identity was designed to communicate a positive message rather than a warning — encouraging people to see environmental responsibility as part of everyday community life.

Communication with Purpose

This project reflects how graphic design and visual communication can support more than commercial objectives. Design can also help communicate social values, influence public awareness and encourage positive behavioural change.

The concept was developed as a proposed visual direction for the environmental campaign, connecting branding, sustainability and community engagement through a simple and recognisable identity.
